Varnish
Learn precisely what Varnish is. Get to know a lot more about web accelerators and their goal.
Varnish is a web application accelerator platform, which caches info for the sake of faster response times. It’s occasionally called an HTTP reverse proxy too and it works between a web server and its users. When a visitor loads a specific page, its content is requested by the Internet browser, and then the web server processes this request and delivers the requested info. If Varnish is enabled for a particular website, it will cache the pages on the very first visit and if the user accesses a cached page once again, the information will be delivered by the accelerator platform and not by the web server. The accelerated load speed is a result of the substantially faster response speed that the Varnish platform offers compared to any server software. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that the site visitors will keep seeing the very same content over and over again, since any modification on any of the pages is reflected in the content that the Varnish platform keeps in its memory.

Varnish in Hosting
In case you host your sites under a
hosting account with our company, you’ll be able to add Varnish with several clicks of the mouse from your Control Panel. The data caching platform is offered as an optional upgrade with all our packages and you can select the number of the websites that will use it and the total storage space that will be available for the cached content. The two features that can be upgraded in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section are the number of instances and the amount of memory and they aren’t directly linked to each other, so you can choose if you want plenty of memory for a single large website or less memory for several smaller ones. You can make use of the full potential of the Varnish caching platform in case the websites use a dedicated IP. Using the hosting Control Panel, you can easily start/restart/delete an instance, clear the cached content independently for each site that uses the Varnish platform or see an exhaustive log file.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Hosting
All our
Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages include Varnish by default, so you can take full advantage of the accelerator and boost the loading speed of any site that you host on our semi-dedicated servers. You’ll get 64 megabytes of memory particularly for Varnish at no additional cost and you can create an instance with no more than a few clicks via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated packages. If you need more memory, the latter is available in increments of 32 megabytes through the Control Panel’s Upgrades section and it will be at your disposal immediately. You can also order more instances as an upgrade, so you can choose if plenty of content will be cached for a single site or whether the available memory will be used by multiple Internet sites. Hepsia will permit you to restart or to remove any instance, to check the system log associated with it or to delete the cached files using 1-click buttons. To get the most out of the Varnish accelerator, you can set a dedicated IP address for the websites that will employ it.

Varnish in VPS Web Hosting
You can use Varnish with all our
virtual private server plans at no additional charge, since the data caching platform is pre-installed and is available by default. The sole requirement is that the virtual server must be ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will be able to set up Varnish for any of your sites with just a few mouse clicks. Each plan includes a different amount of memory for content caching purposes, but you’ll get minimum several hundred MB, which is quite enough even for several large-scale websites. Soon after you set up the Varnish platform, it’ll begin caching the content that your site visitors access, so you will notice the considerably better site loading times and the decreased load on the VPS server very soon. The Varnish platform will permit you to use a less costly virtual server, since you won’t need that much power to warrant the correct operation of your sites even if you run resource-consuming Internet sites with multiple visitors. Optimal results are achieved if the sites which use Varnish also use a dedicated IP address.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers Hosting
You can use Varnish to optimize the speed of any website that is hosted on a
dedicated server from our company if the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is installed on it. Not only will you get the data caching platform ready for use at no additional charge, but you will also have complete control over it through the Hepsia Control Panel’s simple-to-work-with graphical interface. It will take just a click to start or discontinue an instance or to delete the cache associated with any Internet site that is using the Varnish platform and in case you’re more tech-savvy, you can also check the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with at least 3 GB of memory for data caching purposes, so even in case you host a vast number of websites on your server and they all use the Varnish platform, the difference in their overall performance will be evident. You’ll only have to wait for a little while until Varnish caches whatever content the website visitors open on their end. The Varnish platform performs best if the sites use a dedicated IP, but since our servers come with 3 free-of-charge IP addresses, you’ll have all that you need.
